Assamualaikum. Yesssss, I'm alive. Honestly I didn't post anything for a while now not because I was busy or anything, I just had a lack of motivation to open up my laptop and write things out. I thought of things to write and since I've been put in a situation where my emotions can get out of hand if not handled properly, I decided to give some tips (?) on how to handle your emotions.

1. Stop pitying yourself. When your emotions are at its peak, where you feel like nothing's going right, you tend to start pitying yourself the most, you'd picture yourself as a victim of the most saddest drama. Stop. Just stop. This will bring you no where. It won't change anything and it'll just magnify your problems.

"Why can't I be like so-so" "Why am I like this" "Why can't I do anything right" "Why did this happen to me" "Where am I going with life" "Why am I not good enough"

Stop. Throw all these useless thoughts. No one expects you to be "good enough", so what if they are. The one you want to please is Allah swt, the one who created you. Be good to the people not because you want them to recognize the good person that you are, be kind to others because Allah swt loves those who have good manners and treat others kindly. Only then will you be content, because you know that Allah swt will appreciate every single goodness that you do, no matter how little it was, because He knows how hard it was for you.

2. Get rid of all the useless negative feelings. Whatever feeling it is, if it's negative, it gotta go. There are many ways to get rid of it, since you can't simply forget it or throw it out.

- If you live on a mountain, you can try screaming your heart out.

- Pour out your heart on a piece of paper by writing it all down, then either rip it out or burn the paper.

- Do Istighfar... a lot.

- If you're struggling with jealousy, best thing to do is to wish good for the person you are jealous of.

- Sometimes, negative feelings come from the negative people that we surround ourselves with. You can't obviously just get rid of people, but try keeping a distance from those who make you feel pessimistic.

3. Treat yourself. Sometimes all we need when we're upset is just simple things that can lighten up our mood, for example: buy yourself an ice cream, or watch some cat videos. Don't expect others to know how you feel and start pampering you, you'll only feel frustrated when they don't react the way you want them to. So, you pamper yourself instead. Stop focusing on how others can make you happy, you can make yourself happy.

4. Remind yourself of the blessings that you have. Whenever we're upset/angry/sad, we have a habit of complaining (some express it and some don't). But the more we suppress it, the more irritable we become. A good idea is to list all of the things that you are thankful of, be it something big or small. For example:

Having food in the fridge.
Wifi.
A roof above my head.
Clothes to wear.
A phone.

                                                       ..... etc.
This will change your way of thinking and instead of feeling empty, you'll realize that you actually have plenty. Remember, a person could be struggling immensely just to get what you have.

5. Cry it out. Sometimes, when other methods don't work, it's best to just cry out all the emotions that you've been holding. There's a limit to it though, throwing stuff/beat other people/screaming-wailing like it's the end of the world are definitely a no-no. Just simply let all the emotions turn into tears and feel them fall, as the tears evaporate into thin air, all the things you've been holding in disappears.

Assalamualaikum, today I would like to share some thoughts regarding being a materialist.
Now what exactly is materialism?

Materialism
noun.
The theory or attitude that physical well-being and worldly possessions constitute the greatest good and highest value in life.

it also means
interest in and desire for money, possessions, etc, rather than spiritual or ethical values.

If you're a materialist, you're basically suffering from materialism. Why did I described it as "suffering"? Well, it's because you're actually, mentally suffering. Nothing's ever enough, you'd always want more and more. You look at others and compare all your materials with theirs, you sneer at the sight of people who have something that are of less value than yours. You think having all the wealth in this world with make you feel happy and live a peaceful life, when in fact, you're never at ease. Because with every single material you're chasing, there's always a catch. There will always be something that you have to sacrifice if you're after the "material of this world".

Funny thing is, we all have had the experience of being a materialist. Some of us may still suffer from it. One thing for sure is, being a materialist exhaust the mind and the heart. The mind because it's constantly thinking about the things you don't have and why you need to have it (sometimes, we don't actually need it, we just really want it). The heart because it's never satisfied with whatever's around you. Living a live with dissatisfaction, is that really living? Wanting what other people have and sacrificing your happiness for it, are you really living The Life? If you think having a certain thing makes you better than the rest, you might want to think twice. Because in your eyes they might not have much, but in reality they have been blessed with something far more valuable, a heart that is content. Materialism just leads to arrogance and most of the time, depression.

This post was rather serious, I just feel that each of us have to take a hard look at ourselves and acknowledge our weaknesses. Having a weakness does not mean we're horrible people, it just means we have something that we need to improve on.

Assalamualaikum, (as I have mentioned previously) I was in Malaysia for 2 months, approximately a month and a half in Sarawak and 2 weeks in Kedah. While I was in Kedah the first place we went to was this place to eat that served Coconut Shake... Wait what? Coconut shake??? Yes, apparently there is such a thing. Don't judge me for not knowing what it was okay, even though I am indeed a Malaysian but I've been away from my home country for a long time (even though we visit Malaysia once a month, we don't get to stay long and thus we don't have the time to explore) So this time around, I had the chance to see and taste this thing called "Coconut Shake". Fyi, I am not really a fan of coconut, not that I don't eat them, just that I easily get sick of it, so I was pretty surprised that I actually liked the taste of this shake.

Being the stubborn person that I am, I rejected the offer to order one (my auntie was ordering) and I ordered milo instead. But someone from my family had ordered one (I can't remember who) and I had the chance to taste it.

credit to my cousin's friend for taking this wuuhuu ~
credit to my mom who took this blurry close up picture of the "coconut shake" haha
So from what I have tasted, my guess is that it is fresh coconut water blended with vanilla ice cream, and coconut meat (I think)topped with a scoop of the same creamy vanilla ice cream. (If someone actually know how they make them and any specific ingredient that they add in other than what I have mentioned, feel free to share them in the comment, I'd love to knowww) I quite like it, okay fine I really like it and I would definitely recommend it. It's worth a try!

Assalamualaikum, I was in Malaysia for about 2 months. And people may say otherwise but I am totally inlove with the weather over there. It was always raining heavily, others would go ".... not again". While my reaction's the total opposite. The rain is such a huge blessing, like look at how all the green plants & flowers that are growing beautifully because of it. The sky's cloudy most of the days but I think it's because I'm so used to the bright sunny weather in Dubai that over there I look forward to the unpredictable weather. It could be pouring on one part of the country and clear on another, it could be crystal clear in the afternoon and raining in the evening.

Anyways, an idea on what to post popped up all so suddenly today (or yesterday night to be exact). I would like to share what it is that I do during those days, I admit the days were pretty dark. No sign of the sun and warmth. People tend to feel slightly negative during times like that, and by people I mean me. So to avoid being mean & grumpy, I would do either one (or all) of these five things.

1. Eat, (but I try to control myself kay.) When I was staying at my grandma's house, the top 3 things that I ate were random snacks, nuggets andddd.... ice cream. It was superrrr healthy, or not. I was always craving for fruits too, so I ate a lot of apples.

2. Sleep. Honestly, I don't even have to mention how comfy it is sleeping on a rainy day. The sound of rain drops and dark sky just makes me want to curl up into a ball and doze off.

3. Read. I'm always a book person, as long as I have a book to read. So it was unfortunate that I didn't have any book nor did I bring any book back during those 2 months, but I'd definitely finish 10 books. I thought about reading some books online, but it's not the same. I really want to read The Maze Runner trilogy at the moment. What are some of your favourites?

4. Internet. Face it, whether it's raining or shining brightly outside, I'm always either on tumblr,  youtube, instagram etc.

5. And last but not least (this is my favourite actually...) Cuddle. Cuddling's a must, especially when it's pouring outside. My tiny precious lil cousins were always the victim, I'd hug every single one of them, whether they like it or not. AND-I-CANNOT-TELL-YOU-HOW-ADORABLE-THEY-WERE-IT'S-LIKE... TINY HUMANS ROAMING AROUND BLABBERING GIBBERISH WORDS AFDGHFJFFGLDKL.

Really missing my cousins right now, especially with the weather like 15-24°C, but then again I'm a winter's girl so I'm definitely enjoying the cold atmosphere. I get abnormally excited at the sight of breath vapours, and I kind of melt a little when I see snow & rain huhuu.
