Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you), I am back after a momentary hiatus. The reason why I haven't been keeping up with my blog was that I honestly had nothing to post, plus procrastination got a hold of me. Like who doesn't get caught up in procrastinating once in a while right? Although I am one who ends up regretting all of my delaying by the end of the week, it is never a good feeling. But yeah, I am back! And I've decided to start posting some of my thoughts on various topics that I come across. For example, today's topic: Overthinking.

Who here have never overthink before? I for one, am an overthinker. I tend to overthink the tiniest matter which result in me getting so stressed out over nothing really. What's worst is when you can't get a good night rest because of all the thoughts that you've pushed away during the day haunts you at night. Needless to say, overthinking ruins you. It clouds your mind and fill your head with thoughts that are unnecessary and unpleasant, plus it can lead to depression. As a Muslim, we're taught that the Shaitaan (Devil) is always trying to find ways to mess with us. One of the ways is to mess with our mind, and fill it with useless unpleasant thoughts.

Signs that you're overthinking:
* You're worried about something that hasn't happened yet.
* All your assumptions are negative.
* Restlessness.
* Panda eyes (because of the all nighter you end up pulling).
* Unfocused.

It took me some time to figure how to overcome this habit of thinking unwanted thoughts, though it may be hard, it is possible.

1. As best as possible, occupy yourself. Either talk to someone, do some reading, bake, or anything really. You'll end up filling your mind with other things to think of.

2. If you're already at a stage where negative thoughts are popping up, counter-attack it with some positive thoughts. It'll be hard, but you need to try fighting it. If thoughts like "I'm not good enough"  comes up, counter-attack it with "who says?". Remember, you are what you think of, so if you don't like the way you are, stop thinking of yourself that way.

3. Stop trying to predict your future. Face it, you don't know and there's no way of knowing what will happen. Just be happy with whatever you're blessed with right now, live in the present, not the past or  the future.

And know this, whatever you're going through, it can never more than what you can handle.
Each individual have different things that they can and cannot handle, don't look at other people. They may look fine on the outside, but they have their fair share of struggle. This life was made in a way that no one will ever go through things that they cannot handle, this is our belief as a Muslim.
"Allah SWT will never burden a soul except its capacity".
Nowadays, whenever I find myself overthinking I start occupying my brain with these kind of thinking. It works most of the time and I'd find myself content with the way life is flowing.

There are probably more ways to deal with overthinking. But here were some that I, myself had tried. I guess by sharing this, I've made it an obligation for me to remember and to follow my own advice :)
Thanks for reading! If you have some advice you would like to share regarding overthinking, don't ever hesitate to comment it down below, it could be super helpful not only to me but also others!

Assalamualaikum, how are you? Good? Meh, not so good? Well I hope your day will just keep getting better and better, so keep smiling okay! As for me, life have been alright, I've got a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in, there's nothing to complain about really. I managed to occupied myself with painting lately, although seems like the only thing I can paint are galaxy prints (does that count as painting?). I've been wanting to make a new cover for my phone but I've been procrastinating. Usually I would just look up patterns, print them out on hard papers and cut them out.

These are some of the ones that I've printed.

Unfortunately, my dad won't let me use the printer anymore, because I used it wayy too much and I end up wasting inks.... oops. Anyways, that just means I need to make the pattern the old fashion way- by hand. Since this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a blog post, I overcame my laziness for a day and made myself a neat looking phone cover woot ~

The things you'll need:
- Transparent phone cover.
- Paint, preferably acrylic (you'll be using black, white, red, blue and yellow).
- Hard paper.
- Toothbrush.
- Paintbrush (to mix the paint).
- Cut-out sponges (I used around 4-5).

What you need to do first is to trace the outline of your cover on the piece of hard paper.

Next, paint it black (if you have a black piece of paper, you can pretty much skip this step and use that).

Once the black paint has dried, mix in the red and blue paint to make the colour purple. If the results's too dark, add white paint and mix.

Then use one of your cut-out sponges and dip it into your purple mixture and start painting! All you really need to do is slightly dab the paint like so,

*make sure to leave some space for the other colours.

For the next colour, mix in white paint into your purple mixture to get a lighter colour. Then repeat the painting/dabbing process.

After that, mix the blue and white paint, and dab that into your masterpiece.

What I like to do next is to slightly smudge the colours here and there, to create what I like to call "a swirly effect".

Next, dab in the yellow paint. Tip: the darker the yellow, the nicer it'll turn out.

Tip: if you make the mistake of putting too much paint, you can always fix it by painting over it with a black paint.

You should end up with something like this (or better) after all that dabbing (eyyy).

Now for the most important and significant step of all, it's time to add stars! It's super duper simple, using a toothbrush, spray the white paint by brushing the brushes back and forth with your finger.

Tip: the more stars you spray, the more out of space it'll look.
Another tip: try dabbing the white paint and smudge it with the toothbrush, like so

Anddddddddd you're done! All that's left to do is to let the paint dry, cut out the shape of the phone cover and insert it in your transparent case!
THE END ~

Aight, hope you guys found this helpful and end up with some nice looking phone cover!

Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you),

hi there, wassupppp! Hope you are reading this in good health and high spirits. As we all know, it is finally summer! aka 2/3 month of nothing to do. I've been procrastinating for the past few weeks since summer vacation started and it got to the point where I would just laze around for 2-4 hours watching youtube videos etc. I can't help it (admit it you're guilty of this too). But it's frustrating, because I know that I'll be regretting this by the end of summer, pshhh I'm already regretting it right now. So, I have decided to start.... a blog! Okay, to be honest my life isn't all that interesting. But like any other normal human being, I do have things that are probably worth sharing, so why not right? I'm actually quite excited, I hope by doing this I'd be motivated to do productive things and achieve whatever that needs to be achieved this year.

Now for a quick intro to what this blog will consist of,

  • Places I've visited
  • OOTW (outfit of the week)
  • Food
  • anything really
I have all kinds of things in mind at the moment, and currently putting it into plan. So bear with me and stay tuned!
